In the Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri imagines the Inferno (Hell) divided into diff erent circles. When Dante enters the circle of Greed he meets Cerberus, the three-headed guard dog of the underworld. Each head of this gigantic hound represents a negative aspects of the human kind, “Opulence, Power and Glory”.
